More success for Pitreavie in SATS Rankings

Published on Sunday, 12 October 2014 21:37

As we watch in anticipation the SATS website (I am pretty sure I am not the only one who keeps checking the link!) it was great to see the rankings start with the Senior athletes. As they drip-fed 100 down to 1 over a number of nights, we saw the likes of Ryan Oswald (86), Jack Lawrie (81) and Ewan Dyer (73) and as Graham posted it was Pitreavie athlete Eilidh Child who topped the rankings at Number 1. I was quietly confidant it would be Eilidh but with the likes of Lindsay Sharp and Laura Muir also having such a great season it was always going to be quite tight on points.

Initially I was a wee bit disappointed to see none of our Under 13s in the list, but on reflection we have a lot of younger (first year Under 13) athletes in the club and I am confident that next year we will see some of them make the top 20 (hopefully SATS will do this again next year!).

So tonight was the turn of the Under 15s and I was delighted to see that two of our athetes made the top 20, with Emma Rae claiming the top spot and James Adam sitting at 13th, I believe it's James' Birthday today so what a great present! It is great to see that we have both track and field athletes in the top 20 with Emma taking top spot for hammer and James with 800m.

Fantastic achievement for both. I have asked them what their top three highlights have been this year so when James stops partying he will report back :-)

If you want to follow the rankings I guess the next to be listed will be the Under 17s:

I look forward to reporting back...
