A NUMBER of Pitreavie athletes and teams achieved top 10 places in the latest East District Cross Country League meeting in Alloa on Saturday. The club's top performer of the day was Sarah Coutts who won the girls' under-13 race over a 2700m course in a time of 11 mins 41 secs. Not far behind her was Jenny Gillanders, who finished fourth in 12:00, while Jemma Jamieson was 18th in 12:45, helping to secure second place in the team competition.

Also competing in the same race were Lauren Blair, 19th in 12:45; Jennifer Brydon, 28th in 13:14; Skye Marshall, 32nd in 13;22; Ailsa Marsh, 36th in 13:33; and Lucy Telfer, 53rd in 14:49.

In the under-13 boys' race, Lewis Blair was first home for Pitreavie, finishing seventh in 11:20. Club mates Euan Johnston and Arran Robertson were 22nd in 12:06 and 34th in 12:34 respectively, earning the team sixth place overall.

In the under-11s, over a 1600m course, Conor Gourley produced an excellent run to finish fourth in the boys' race in 6:20. The only other Pitreavie athlete in the race was R. Burrel, who was 23rd in 7:01, so the club didn't have enough runners to be placed in the team competition.

Isla Booth, 17th in 7:30; K. McNaulty, 22nd in 7:40; and A. Chisholm, 29th in 7:55; were seventh in the girls' team competition.

James Adam was Pitreavie's best performer in the boys' under-15 race over 3700m, finishing 10th in 14:37. Alex Johnston was 16th in 15:24 and Dylan Thomson was 33rd in 17:05, securing the team sixth place overall. Also competing in the race were L. Murray, 39th in 18:03; and Liam Gillan, 43rd in 19:29.

The under-15 girls and the under-17 women ran a combined race over 3700m, with Pitreavie finishing second in the team competition. Emily Nicholson was sixth in 15:50, five places ahead of sister Zoe, who finished in 16:16. Leah Davie was next home for Pitreavie, finishing 12th in 16:22; followed by Iona Crawford in 22nd in 17:07; Ciara Bowman 26th in 17:43; Sophie Telfer, 27th in 17:46; Hannah Dow, 53rd in 20:23; Molly Cunningham, 65th in 25:36; Hannah Gillan, 66th in 25:36; and Erin Graham, 67th in 25:37.

Three Pitreavie athletes took part in the men's under-17 race over 5600m, finishing seventh in the team competition. Tyler White was 18th in 23:32, Andrew McNair was 23rd in 26:10 and Corey Smith finished 26th in 26:54.

Rebecca Burns was the club's sole competitor in the senior/junior women's race over 5600m, finishing ninth in 24:32; and Colin Lamont was the only Pitreavie runner in the senior/junior men's race, completing the 8200m course in 38:39 for 97th place.
