Cameron is top performer at Youth Development League

SPRINTER Cameron Keelan was Pitreavie's star performer in the second round of the Youth Development League (Lower) at Kilmarnock.
Cameron, competing in the under-15 age group, was first the 200m in 12.79s, and then went on to win the 80m hurdles in 12.33s.
Also in the under-15s, Lewis Dow narrowly missed out in a closely contested 1500m race, eventually having to settle for second place in 4:31.76.
Conor Allan took second place in the discus with a throw of 24.01m, and was also runner-up in the 'B' string 300m in 43.35s.
Euan Johnston was second in the 'B' 80m hurdles in 14.23s, and Arran Robertson was third in the 'B' 1500m in 5:16.50.
In the under-13s, Conor Gourley was victorious in the 1500m, winning in 4:56.66 - the only athlete in the age group to break the five-minute barrier.
Kyle Macfarlane won the 'B' 800m in 2:33.10, Jacob Carr clinched the shot putt with a throw of 7.86m and was second in the 'B' 200m in 29.32s.
Ross Birrell secured a couple of third places in the sprints, clocking 14.31s for the 100m and 29.16s for the 200m.
Campbell Dowie was third in the 800m in 2:34.36, and took second place in the 'B' shot putt with a throw of 5.83m.
For the girls, under-15 athlete Jennifer Brydon was the club's top performer.
She was joint first in the 'B' high jump with a clearance of 1.40m, and was third in both the 800m in 2:24.64 and the 75m hurdles in 13.58s.
In the pole vault, competing for the first time, Lynn Harvey took second place with a clearance of 1.83m.
In the under-13s, Louise Conway picked up second place in the 70m hurdles in 12.36s, Dani Mauchlen took third in the 'B' 75m in 11.19s, and Caitlin Ritchie was third in the 'B' long jump with 3.79m.
Louise, Dani and Caitlin then teamed up with Abbie Chisholm to take second place in the 4x100m relay in a time of 56.25s.
