PITREAVIE AAC maintained their push for promotion from Scottish Men’s League Division Two following some fine performances in the latest match at Aberdeen.
They finished in third place on the day, and currently sit second in the table, although there’s very little between them and third-placed Inverclyde.
Pole vaulter Dylan Thomson got the team off to a good start, claiming second place with a clearance of 3.60m
Lewis McGuire did even better, winning the high jump with a 2.00m clearance, while Craig Dunlop added further points with a second place finish in the ‘B’ event, setting a personal best of 1.60m.
Lewis was also involved in the long jump, taking third place with 5.74m.
On the track, Kyle Henderson produced a gutsy performance to finish third in the 400m hurdles in 64.48s, taking four seconds off his previous best.
Ben Potrykus was second in the 800m in a time of 1:56.46, and also claimed second place in the 400m ‘B’ race in a personal best of 51.77s. Ben Grant was runner-up in the 400m ‘A’ string in 51.81s.
In the 3000m steeplechase, team manager Colin Lamont was second in a personal best of 11:27.58, while Kyle Henderson returned to the track for the ‘B’ race, finishing first in 12:40.82 - his first attempt at this distance.
