Then it was the Shot Putt which proved to be Allan`s strongest event. Allan threw a massive 8.38m (nearly 1/2 a meter further than any of the other competitors) to earn 389 points to take him clear into 2nd place and close to within 16 points of the leader.
Fourth event was the High Jump. Another strong performance for Allan with a jump of 1.29m to earn 244 points consolidated his second place with only one event to go.
The final event was the 800m. This race proved to be a close race between the top 5 athletes as they all vied for the medals but Allan finished well in 2:37.19 seconds to ensure he won the silver medal. Allan`s final points score of 1477 is also a new club record.
Well done to Allan

In the U17 300m Championships Pitreavies Siobhan Coleman dominated the race from the gun. In very windy and wet conditions the time was always going to be below Siobhan`s best but in these events it all about winning the title and she ensured there was only going to be one winner. From the gun Siobhan went straight into the lead and won the event comfortably by 150m. Her time for the race was 10:34.59s.
Congratulations to Siobhan.
