Pitreavie AAC Endurance

All you need to know about endurance running with Pitreavie AAC

Pitreavie AAC continues to successfully compete in the local racing scene, with impressive 1st and 3rd places from Ben Potrykus (15:12 mins) and David Henderson (18:26 mins) at the chip timed 5K Blast @ Gypsy Brae.  Meanwhile, Jonny Cotton from Pitreavie’s Endurance section came up trumps, placing 1st in 47:16 mins at the virtual Gartmorn 6 race (6 mile), with Leona Doherty 1st female in 52.58 mins.  Jonny followed this up by placing 3rd overall, and 2nd MV40 (42:45 mins) at the virtual Last Duel Trail race, in which participants were asked to run the real 5.6 mile course in the scenic Cardenden Woods by 25th October.  The muddy and slippery conditions after heavy rain made for tough going, making Jonny’s time even more impressive.

Pitreavie are also enthusiastically supporting races put on by local organiser, Trails of Fife, with 16 Endurance section runners taking part in the Reuse Recycle Trail Race at Lochore Meadows.  John Cruikshank (M50) was first Pitreavie male home, placing 9th in a time of 34:16 mins over the 4.9 mile course, with Mags Blanski taking 1st F50 in 44:58 mins.   The same course was home to the Chilly Willy Halloween Trail race two weeks later, with another 19 Endurance section members running in windy and muddy conditions, many in full Halloween costume.
