Published on Tuesday, 28 January 2020 16:08

Saturday saw 3 Pitreavie AAC athletes representing Scotland East in the Inter-District Cross Country Championships, part of the Run Stirling Festival in the shadow of Stirling Castle.   The combination of National, Inter-District and individual entries in the same races allowed athletes to compete against some of the very best in the UK.  Scotland East selections were Conor Gourlay for the under-17 men, Anya Morrison for the under-15 girls and Ariane Baillie for the under-13 girls.  Roy Thomas also ran in the under-15 boys, representing Pitreavie AAC.

Conor Gourlay pulled in good performance over 6km under extremely challenging conditions, placing 4th in the Inter-District under-17 Men (overall 18th) in a time of 21:12 helping Scotland East take second place in the Inter-District.

There were solid performances from the other Pitreavie athletes. Anya Morrison finished half-way up the field of the 4k course in 35th place with a time of 16:50, with the Scotland East under-15 girls team finishing first in the Inter-District.  Ariane Baillie came in 30th over the 3k distance in a time of 14:20, with the Scotland East under-13 girls coming in second in the Inter-District.  Roy Taylor finished the 4k under-15 boys course at 43rd in a time of 15:41.
