Pitreavie AAC Endurance Section were busy walking, running and hiking as they took part in their popular Bubble Dash in January. The Bubble Dash saw runners, who’d previously been grouped into training bubbles in line with Scottish Athetics COVID guidelines competing on distance, elevation and maxiumum time over the whole of January. With the emphasis being on remining active in the depths of winter, the Bubble included a C25K bubble, a kids Bubble and a Barking Bubble for the pet dogs.
After a momumental effort over 31 days, Endurance Section members ran or walked a colossal 19,868km - further than the distance to New Zealand, ascended 215,973mtrs, and kept moving for over 2,961 hours! The Double Biscuit Bubble covered the most distance with 2,247km, with the Socially Adaptabubbles on 2,178km, and the SQubbles (based in South Queensferry) 20 2102km. The Double Biscuit Bubble also gained the most elevation with 28,562mtrs, whilst the Socially Adaptabubbles showed massive commitment by exercising out and about for over 430 hours.
